Online Toxics Measurement: Keeping Water Safe
Workshop Proceedings
WK02TXCS-001
These workshop proceedings document presentations regarding the detection of
biological or chemical agents in water with early warning devices that can
assist with preventing catastrophic events. Presentations provided current and
future technologies that can be used to close the early warning gap in treatment
facilities.
Presentations included research regarding a NASA sponsored project
for the development of an automated system to analyze water and air quality;
research regarding Sandia National Laboratories' efforts in chemical and
biological detection, electronic security measures to secure software and
hardware, early warning using odor sensors, and early warning using online total
organic carbon (TOC) analyzers.
These proceedings were used at an interactive
workshop sponsored by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater
Chicago, Stickney Water Reclamation Plant in Chicago, Illinois in 2002.
