Area/Velocity Flowmeters for Wastewater
Collection System Applications Performance Evaluation Report
PER98FM-001
This test report presents results of six area/velocity flowmeters
field-tested in a wastewater collection system over a period of five to six
months at three different test sites utilizing small, medium and large
collection system pipelines subjected to a range of flow conditions.
Four different flowmeter technologies were evaluated including
electromagnetic, ultrasonic, ultrasonic Doppler, and ultrasonic transit
time.
The Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSDGC) sponsored this
test. This report provides an overview of performance test procedures,
outlines instrument specifications and includes performance test results for
